We are pleased to announce the successful completion of our assignment with Barry Callebaut, which focused on improving child labour interventions and gender inclusivity within cocoa-producing communities in Ghana, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.
Through a collaborative research and design process, working alongside expert partners and country teams, we developed enhanced child- and gender-sensitive action plans and implementation manuals. Our role involved leading field consultations with NGOs, local governments, and community members; conducting workshops with Barry Callebaut’s Community Development (ComDev) teams; and drafting comprehensive operational tools to guide community and supply chain interventions.
The tools and strategies developed will support Barry Callebaut’s goal of eradicating child labour in its supply chain, ensuring that programmes are more context-responsive, protective of vulnerable children, and aligned with international best practices
